Places To Visit While On Your Stay

Lake Guerlédan
Lake Guerlédan is an artificial lake straddling the town of Saint-Aignan in Morbihan and the municipality of Mûr-de-Bretagne in Côtes-d'Armor. Its formation is due to the construction of the Guerlédan dam in 1930 on the Blavet stream. It materializes, in part, the boundary between Morbihan and Côtes-d'Armor. Its name comes from the Breton vannet Gouer ledan is "the wide creek".
With an area of 400 ha, 12 km long and 40 m deep at the foot of the dam, Lake Guerlédan is the largest artificial lake in Brittany.
Between walks, swimming with family, fishing or water skiing the site of Lake Guerlédan is discovered in many ways.

Josselin
Our local town, is a medieval town of great character designated a 'Petite cité de caractère' and Floral Town. It boasts a famous Chateau, 11th Century Church and 17th Century housing, all in a riverside setting on a hill. There is a good selection of bars, restaurants, pavement cafes and artist shops, and a bustling Saturday street market.
We think it is one of the best small towns in Brittany.
Josselin is located in the Morbihan Region of Brittany in North West France. Josselin castle has overlooked this town since the Middle Ages, and has witnessed some fierce battles over the years. Josselin is a small town, perfect for a day's visit, with medieval half-timbered houses clustered around the stunning château at its centre.
Bon Repos Abbey
The Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Repos abbey (in Breton abati Itron-Varia a Verrepoz) is located in the town of Saint-Gelven, 13 km from Mur de Bretagne. It is located along the Blavet, also canal from Nantes to Brest at this place. It is said that, hunting in the region, Alain III de Rohan had an apparition of the Virgin who asked him to create an abbey on this site. He executed and founded Bon-Repos in 1184. Sold as a national property during the Revolution, this abbey is the subject of an inscription as a historical monument since January 5, 1940. It is in ruins when a group of enthusiasts decides to bring him back to life in 1986.
The abbey is located in a peaceful environment, in the heart of nature, at the foot of the Quénécan forest and bordered by the Nantes-Brest canal. It is in this idyllic setting that the abbey is now visited. You can discover it with a guide or alone with paper, audio or digital thanks to a tablet that explains the history of the place and also allows you to view the abbey as in the 18th century. A real trip to the past!
The site is every summer the theater of a sound and light show tracing the history of Central Brittany. A historical fresco that, for two hours, occupies a stage of 2 hectares with, in the background, the facade of the Abbey. A Gallic village and the castle of Conomor delimit the scenic space on both sides.
From the end of March to the end of October, Le Petit Marché de Bon Repos settles near the abbey. It brings together about twenty exhibitors (local producers, crafts ...), ideal for a Sunday ride in the heart of a green nature.

Pontivy
Pontivy is a town in the north of the Morbihan department, in central Brittany and about half way between Saint-Brieuc on the northern coast and Carnac on the southern coast.
It has an important role as a popular tourist destination, mainly because of the castle but also in part because it is where the Nantes-Brest canal meets the River Blavet, providing various activities and scenic highlights, and also in part because of the historic centre of the town.
Medieval Pontivy is the old town, centred around the impressive 15th century Chateau des Rohan, a medieval moated castle in the centre of the town. The beautiful Chateau des Rohan reminds us of the wealth and importance of the Rohan dynasty, based here during the Middle Ages, and is certainly among the most impressive castles in Brittany.
